Dear friends, I saw MJFox and thought he did us all a tremendous favor. His energy is astounding me. My spoken telephone voice is very soft, slow and weakened by the last few days' events. What has happened is that my body has stopped producing body heat continuously on the left side of the chest, ribs, arm and armpit area, giving me widespread rib cage pain to the left of and immediately below the left nipple area. This causes my entire left chest area to get cold and shake violently. Also my old right inguinal hernia has reoccurred and has been popping out and staying out. This has made passing water and attempting "#2" much more difficult. It has taken one and a half days to get an appointment to see a surgeon to have a look at the broken open hernia,, while avoiding a repeat trip to thelocal emergency room, which I already nearly died in last Thursday evening when left unattended, and where I caught a deep cold in the right side my back. I am NOT eligible for nursing home level of home care, nor assisted living at this time, because along with the cut to 5 hours from 13 PCA hours per day goes a LOSS of nursing home eligibility. So I have to be admitted to a hospital to get care, and that has not happened, or get care at home , somehow. On Sunday, the huge ice build-up on the roof caused one of the walls to start soaking up meltwater, and my house began to have problems including a back door that won't open, and water seeping into the interior walls. An insurance adjuster arrived today. My Disability Rights lawyer filed a brilliant Argument today to Maine Dept of Human Services Commissioner , Kevin Concannon, and I am praying tha t this will convince him to restore my PCA hours , and nursing home level of care eligibility for homnecare. I am being taken care of at home primarily by a friend who has become a live-in PCA , and we are recruiting other helpers. His name is Tyrone. God is blessing both of us and teaching us how to endure hardships..
