Opal "Karen" M. Johnson
Monday, February 19, 2001
      Our sweet, angelic wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, "Karen,"
passed away February 16, 2001 from this earthly life (due To Parkinson's
Disease and age) to be with her Savior and Heavenly family.

       She was born March 19, 1919 in Park Rapids, MN. She was the
second of four daughters born to Anna Bjergo Smiley and Albert Eliias
Smiley. The have all preceded her in death. "Karen" married Glen Elmer
Johnson Aug 4, 1945. The moved to SLC in 1953. Glen was the love of
her life and her wonderful caregiver in her final years.

       Karen leaves behind her husband, Glenn; three children, Cheryl Hale
(Brian), Cathy Dalton (Murry), Kevin Johnson (Jody); stepsons, Ronald
Johnson (Kare), Gerald Johnson; many grandchildren and great-
grandchildren.

      She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and sang in the
choir there for over 30 years. She was a devoted wife and caring mother
and even though the Parkinson's Disease robbed most of her mobility
and speech, she never complained and always had a warm smile for
everyone.

      The funeral will be 1 p.m. Tues. Feb 20, 2001 at St. John's Lutheran
Church, 1030 S. 500 E, Salt Lake City. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens,
10600 S. 1700 E, Sandy.
