                                                      JOURNALISM

The Bachelor of Journalism Program, initiated in 1998, is the only
undergraduate degree program of its kind in British Columbia. It is
print-based, with students entering after completing their first two years
of university study.

Approximately 70 part-time and full-time students are currently enrolled.
The School of Journalism also offers a one year, post baccalaureate diploma
in Journalism.

Although they feature a strong liberal arts component, both the degree and
the diploma options are
career-oriented, aimed a preparing students for employment with community
and daily newspapers, magazines, government agencies, corporations, and
non-profit and advocacy organizations. Because of its focus on practicality
and employability, the program maintains close relationships with local and
regional media outlets, and facilitates a variety of internships.

DUTIES:

The University College of the Cariboo invites applications for a full-time
ongoing position with British Columbia's only bachelor's degree program in
Journalism. The successful candidate will teach a variety of third and
fourth-year Journalism courses, carry a scholarly activity workload and
responsibilities, and participate in ongoing program developments and
initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

      Minimum of a Master's degree in Journalism or a related discipline.
      Preference will be given to candidates who are accomplished
journalists with proven teaching       experience at the university level.
      Professional experience and/or publications in media relations, media
theory, and online media     vehicles for the delivery of journalism would
be an asset.
