Jane, There is great optimism that young cells from the umbilical cord and blood may holdd secets to the cure for various diseases, perhaps even PD. Ask the clinician who wants to collect the umbilical what exactly they will do with it. They proobably will give you something in writing.... My daughter in law did it.
