Hello coleagues, Yes indeed, I've returned to the list after a 6 months or so absence. I actually returned a couple of months ago but I remained quiet hoping to learn some net manners.( Sorry Ivan, I can not pick on you any more!) I do have a couple of questions and a comment or two The Questions About a year ago I stopped publishing a health newsletter which came out monthly, was in color, ran about 10 pages and cost me about $180 an issue (110 copies). In addition to providing infomation about chronic illness it proved to be a great learning experience for those that were new to writing. But alas, it folded because of money and my stubbornnest in not yielding to less expensive measures The time has now arrived for me or me and someone else to resurrect THE GOOD TIMES NEWSLETTER but I need to find the money or cut cost. I've tried various organizations including the national PD groups but to no avail.I've tried individuals, said to be rich. Again, no go. For the first 6 months I survived on contributions from local store owners but that wonderful grass root effort faltered. I even contacted to the manufacturer of my printer and heard "we don't give to individuals". I kind of understand that but it is hard to listen to repeatedly. So what I'm going to do this time is to cut the cost of which ink cartridges account for about 70%. Online Auction houses are one source but as I read, say, E-Bay, there is no way to be sure of the quality. As I understand PD medication the effectiveness of the drug is maintained for at least a year depending on its storage. But when the notice on the cartrudge says "use before" I assume the worst. So my first question is ....Who knows something obout purchasing ink on line. It sells for about 1/2 to 1/3 the price in a store. What do I need to know? My second question has to do with funding. Suggestions? My third question is What would you pay for such a year subscription to such a newsletter as described above. I will try and put a back copy on my web site. My fourth question has nothing to do with anything noted above. Who has attended any of Landmark Educational programs. This is a program that is of a transformational education nature. I have been attending for the past 6-8 months and have found it to be a wonderful experience. My only comment today is about how I'm doing since my staged bilateral pallidotomy in August 1995 and Sept.1996. I'm doing very well. There has been no suggestion of any symptomatic return. Prior to my surgeries I carried a diagnosis of end stage PD and was being lind up for a nursing home. Today I'm free of any primary symptoms and while I still take medication I'm free to live a near normal life.
