Hi Barbara,
Good to hear from you! You were wondering about the genre conference in
Oslo--yes, I'll be going to it. To be really honest, if I can only go to
one Canadian conference a year, it'll be CATTW every time. I find their
conference much more useful than Inkshed, given my own particular area of
research and teaching. So I haven't been to Inkshed for a number of years
(though I still enjoy reading the newsletter).
You'd be more than welcome to come up to Lafayette and visit Purdue when
you're in Indianapolis in April. There isn't really a forum right now for
giving formal lunch-hour talks, but I could try to arrange an informal
get-together with some of my own students as well as other grad students in
the department. What would be the topic that you'd want to talk on?
I know that Purdue's Communication Department has a great organizational
communication group. I've been trying to create some links to them, I but
haven't succeeded so far. I e-mailed the head of the department a while
back, and left a voice message, but haven't heard anything back. I'll just
have to keep trying.
