Sid - have you asked "them"? If you are referring to the sight I shared
with the list, this is one that I randomly picked after surfing for "other
stem cell sources". I even started to make a comment about the, loosely
translated "murder" statement. I don't agree with their sentiment at all
but I thought - this is way beyond what I want to deal to a group of PWP's.
So I was hoping that the final paragraph that I highlighted in red was the
key - that there are alternatives to stem cell sources.

The point can be argued till we're all blue in the face. The result? ...
we'll all be blue in the face. I will never be able to change the mind of
someone who feels very morally right about their pro-life stance. They will
never change my mind. The two shall meet and there will be no happy medium
until attitude's change. It will take some strong, insightful individual
that can sort out the happy medium so that all can live comfortably with.
When am I my brother's keeper? Never? Sometimes? All of the time? Even
when s/he has aked me not to be? I, for one, am my own keeper and
protector. I too ask not to be protected from myself - just from others.
Now I have to balance this with being part of a community and the world as a
whole... I gotta get to work!

I understand why Focus on the Family is opposed to human embryo research,
but
please explain, why they are also opposed to invitro fertilization and their
forebearers were opposed to birth control. After all, your organization and
its kissing cousins, killed the State Departments financial aid for birth
control instructions in the third world. And at one time, many years ago,
when I was in college, I debated on "Resolved that it should be made legal
to
sell birth control devices." My opponent (maybe it was you), compared birth
control to murder.
To the younger people reading this: It was actually a criminal offense to
teach birth control in this country, thanks to dedicated protectors of
"FAMILY."

PS I don't like abortion, I am a grandfather of five and I think the
population explosion is the ultimate doomsday scenario. There are more
living
people on the earth today then lived on this planet for the past ten
thousand
years.
This space ship is getting very crowded.
I love all of you, but I'm darn tired of my protectors!
