Hi, Just signed on to the list today. My father, age 83, has coped with PD for over 15 years. Heard this was a good list. To prevent asking questions already addressed, I was wondering if anyone could help me access the archives of previous posts. Also, can we do a "search" of the archives? Can anybody help? I've tried several attempts with the listserver, but am getting nowhere fast! Thanks! mk ----- Original Message ----- From: "ArthurDale1" <[log in to unmask]> To: <[log in to unmask]> Sent: Wednesday, April 18, 2001 3:56 PM Subject: Re: Any Suggestions, > frank...one of the most practical suggestions came from an occupational > therapist, who saw me walk...she suggested that by stretching the hamstring, > it will help lift the toes when walking, thus lessening the chance of > stumbling...i stretch the hamstring by standing on a stair step, with a firm > hold on the rail, and lowering my heels...i just hold it that way...don't > know if your therapist would approve...works for me...i'm an advocate, not > an expert, of using the cane, walker, wheelchair, etc...takes bones and > bruises a long time to heal...good luck...dale > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Frank Mustaccio <[log in to unmask]> > To: <[log in to unmask]> > Sent: Wednesday, April 18, 2001 1:54 PM > Subject: Any Suggestions, > > > > Hi everyone, > > > > I am a new member list and am looking for help for a friend of mine. > > > > Jack has been afflicted with PD for the last 18 years and for the most > part > > has managed the disease and enjoyed a relatively good quality of life.
