welcome, Margery! This is a great place to ask questions, learn what's new
in PD research and even how to advocate for change at National Institutes of
Health for more federal dollars for Parkinson's. Also a place to feel less
alone as you face life with Parkinson's.

Dear Parkinsn members,

I have just been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease and found this support
system as I "surfed" the net in search of information.

I have suspected this diagnosis for a while (even tho it was misdiagnosed
for
over a year) so I am not surprised, but it's been a blow nevertheless.

Since symptoms and progress seem to vary dramatically and contradictorily
(if
there's such a word) it would be wonderful to hear from some/all of you
regarding both.

I have elected not to start medication - the tremors are noticeable but do
not
impede anything I try to do so far. I have no idea how long that will last,
but since everything I read indicates building up an immunity to the drugs
plus very real possible side effects, I would think it practical to wait as
long as possible.

Looking forward to hearing from you,
Margery
