hi all i'm going to try to tell you how impressed i am with TWP's accomplishments which in essence comprise one man's passion and drive to make a difference in the world of pd leonard casavant said he wanted to start a talk-radio show devoted exclusively to PD the show has been on weekly since august - sunday the 13th of may was the 41st broadcast-week! talk-radio on the internet - who'd have thought it possible? what a wonderful use of the medium and the most recent techno-advances therein in 'real' time, direct from his telephone to your home computer (and back again, if you choose to call in and participate) to share experiences and information world wide parkython 2001 was a celebration of that accomplishment a validation of 'travels with parkinson's - talk-radio with a purpose' and a call to action to keep this ball rolling it's a true grass-roots movement by parkies for parkies the first steps may be small and a bit wobbly at times but that's an essential part of the learning process it's only going to get better just like the unity walk pennies for parkinson's chillicothe's parkinson awareness days prior to the parkython i suggested to len that regardless of the amount of money raised the heightening of pd awareness is without price the service done for the pd community is immeasurable he may have hoped to have more cash splashin about but i say $3,500 net proceeds (and still countin) aint nothin to sneeze at for a toddler-size venture just learning how to walk (and of course that net figure would not have been possible without the generous support of pharmacia boehringer ingelheim inc) it has been a pleasure and an honour to work with len and twp and the great team he inspired and i can't wait to see what the future holds!
