Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research (www.michaeljfox.org) is pleased to announce an unprecedented collaboration with the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, other NIH institutes and other private Parkinson's organizations to jointly fund a program of up to $7.4 million in Parkinson's disease research grants. Applications, which should be submitted directly to the NINDS (http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/2001/01.05.18/index.html) are due by July 19, 2001; announcement of grant recipients is anticipated by December 1, 2001. Like the Foundation's initial "Fast Track" grant awards, this new effort - "R21 Fast Track Grants for Parkinson's Disease Research" - aims to stimulate novel, innovative or high-impact approaches relevant to the cure, cause, prevention or improved treatment of Parkinson's disease research.
