Vitamin E, like vitamins A, D, and K, are fat-soluble vitamins, and,
unlike the B vitamins and vitamin C, *accumulate* in the body when
taken in too-large qualtities.  Each of those fat-soluble vitamins can be
exceedingly toxic if taken in overdose.

Vitamin E *deficiency*, artifically produced, has been shown to cause
miscarriages in *rats*, and not much else.  There is some controversy
as to whether Vitamin E intake above the minimum daily requirements
is good for *anything*; but certainly, anything much over 1000 IU can
produce toxicity which can be serious.
