Hi Diane

I am repling to you off line.  My name is Pam Shapley I am 51 yrs old and have been dxd for 3 yrs.  I too only have PD on one side.  Mine is on the right side.  From what I can tell most people start out on one side only.   Most people eventualy progress to both sides but it does take a few years.  Some never do, but from what I can tell that is very rare.

As for why PD works like that I do not have a clue.  I'm sure some one from the  list can explain.  The people on this list  server are a wealth of  information and are vey kind.

I know I did not really answer your qestion, but I wanted you to know your not  a rookie, we all are.  Feel free to e-mail  me any time .

Pam

>I am always amazed at the information that goes through here. Some of you (Murray) must have some incredible sources. This makes me just a bit intimidated to ask such a simple question but here goes.....

>I understand about the loss of brain cells and lack of dopamine as cause for P.D.symptoms but I have not read anything that explains why it effects one side more than the other. Or does it? It does with me. When my meds start to wear off or at times when they are not effective my left foot starts to drag, my left leg hurts, limp, etc. Also...

>About tremor. I don't have a noticable tremor-but internally, at times, i feel like i'm shaking so hard the furniture im touching must be moving, yet when i look down nothing is moving. I know thats not unique with me, is it common and does that change as time goes on?
