My experience with music.

I've been so bad that all I could do was prop myself up with my left arm
against my piano (fortunately a tall upright) and play slowly with my right
hand. After 15 min or so was sitting up playing normally with both hands.
Incredible.

Also, I almost didn't buy a guitar because I couldn't hold the strings down.
Fortunately I did, and it has the same effect. I can start out with almost
no movement, and end up playing normally (for me).

So I bought a recorder (similar to a flute - usually seen in elementary
classrooms) thinking this might also help with breathing - pushing air out
of lungs into the recorder. Unfortunately this had the opposite
effect.because my cat immediately would run to the opposite end of the
house. And I lost the pet effect. I've just bought a harmonica for help in
building up breathing, but haven't enough experience to say anything yet.
For 5 bucks, its worth a shot.

The music that helps me best, is the music I like. Classical is good, but
hymns help me the best.

Walter
