Hello Jack,
after discussing this with my neurologist, I will visit a speech therapist and learn how to speak to the computer without ruining my voice in the process.
speech recognition programs are very useful, but they require a lot of training (especially if English is not your native tongue) to understand you well.
You might check with your doctor and see if it is possible for you to receive training/have a teacher visit you. I did that with DragonDictate, and it helped a lot to have someone who pointed out my errors and who could also tell me why the programme reacted like it did.
