Below is a letter from Dr. Lieberman, of NPF, announcing the merger of
National Parkinson Foundation with Parkinson Disease Foundation. I
believe this merger is a very positive change. This letter appeared on

dear friends
 last week I met with Dr Stan Fahn  Chairman of the Division of
Movement Disorders at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York
 Stan is a pre eminent specialist in Movement Disorders and
Parkinson
 Disease.  In addition to many honors he is the President of the
 American Academy of Neurology   the largest and most prestigious
association of neurologists.    Stan will be the Scientific Director
 of the combined organization called the Parkinson Foundation
  I also met with Robin Elliott   Robin is the Executive Director
of the Parkinson Disease Foundation and will be the Executive
Director of the Parkinson Foundation
   Mr Nathan Slewett  the Chairman of the National Parkinson
Foundation
 and Dr Lewis Rowland the Chairman of the Parkinson Disease
Foundation will
be co-chairman of the new Parkinson Foundation
  Mr Herbert Zemel  President of the NPF will be the President of
the
Parkinson Foundation
  I will be the Medical Director
  the merger is happening
  People with Parkinson are uniting   and if we unite we can conquer
 this disease
