Chris,
the surgeon I consulted when I was thinking about this kind of surgery, allegedly one of Sweden's finest neurosurgeons, said that the brain needs some rest to avoid confusion and other mental side-effects. (he works for a state-owned hospital, and gets his pay regardless of the number of operations made.) Even if the procedure is done in one day, you will still have two holes and two wires in your head. No risk reduction there. But as usual, different docs, different messages... It's after all a young method.

- But, compared to pallidotomy this seems like a walk in the park... I'll do it when apomorphine injections are insufficient to get me over the "speed bumps".

Just my 0.22 kronor. Thats circa 2 cents nowadays. :-)
