here is a demo of how i create a no-pain index listing
for a month's worth of my postings to the PARKINSN listserv
(i use these indexes to create the hyperlinks to each individual message
in the 'janet's journal' section of my website - a looooong work in
progress!)
using listserv's data base capability,
(described in detail in the "pdnet" section of my website)
i first sent a command message by e-mail to the PARKINSN listserv computer
to dig up every message i sent to the list in january of this year:
translated into listserv-nerd-ese,
the command is shown below between the ---------- lines:

// search * in PARKINSN from 20010101 to 20010131 ,
where sender is [log in to unmask]
----------
within a minute or so, the listserv computer sent me back this reply:
