I have personal experience---- I was in the Toronto Hospital for a pallidotomy in 1996. A short time and I was fully functional. I had my drug regime printed out by my computer. That pleased the staff I was allowed to self medicate but the nurses came by to check on me ---- and to ask if I had taken the pills.
