Maybe, yes and maybe, no.

See source: http://www.parkinson.org/pramipexole.htm

Summary:

RESULTS: Pretreatment of the cells daily for 72h with pramipexole [agonist,
brand name MIRAPEX] significantly decreased the effects of MPP+ on
mitochondrial membrane potential and cell death. The protective action was
not observed when pramipexole was added to the cell cultures at frequencies
less than every 24th.
CONCLUSIONS: These results suggest that daily treatment with pramipexole
maintains mitochondrial membrane potential and this protects neuronal cells
from apoptotic cell death

It seems that there's always some entertaining magic to be found in those lab
dishes.
