To fellow PD members of PIEN - Re: Virus Thanks Murray, Robert Fisk, John Cottingham, Terry, Ervinmccathy, Rayilyn, Sandra Norris, David Meigs, Nita Andres, Roy Korona, Michel, Mario, Donald, Dabu, Norma, Rees Jenkins, Camilla and finally Sid Levin who said take to aspirins and go to bed I wanted to make sure my pc was squeaky clean before I responded to all of you about the virus - and all the e-mail you received from me that I did not send (or was even aware of). I opened my mail yesterday, in the early am and read some messages I received from PIEN and Ask the Doctor. I seem to remember one of the Ask the Doctor e-mails had an attachment which I thought was odd. I deleted it without opening it. I sent Murray a personal e-mail then logged off for the day. When I logged back on to go to the "PLWP Singles Site" my Outlook Express popped up saying it was sending out 300 e-mails. When I checked they were messages to "ME" from PIEN list members. I immediately deleted all my e-mail (inbox, sent and deleted folders) and ran my McAfee Scan disk. It reported one infected file which I cleaned and deleted. Since then I have repeatedly done virus scans and everything is clean. What an awful way to get to know you all. It is beyond embarrassing to have my name showing up on everyone's pc with an attachment. Horrors! I wanted to personally thank each and everyone of you for letting me know you were getting e-mail with an attachment from me even though I didn't send it. It was a simple fix from my end. I don't know why this virus only infected my PIEN e-mail?????????? While I have everyone's attention (always the promoter!) We have a Singles Site going for Single people with PD. It is an International site for single people to meet, share and promote advocacy. The url to this site is http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/plwpsinglesclub PS - I am worried how Sandra Norris is making out as it was mentioned her pc may be infected. I would telephone her and offer assistance. If anyone is talking to her and/or anyone else that is having problems just tell them to send me their phone number and I'll call them. Don't worry it is 10 cents a minute for me to call the US..........and it is the least I can do if I caused as this inconvenience and worse destruction. I bucked up my McAfee Anti Virus Shield with all sorts of bells and whistles. I just read that Michel lost all his stuff. I feel sick. I wonder why I got away with everything intact.
