Bob,

I am not a scientist, but I have heard scientists say that embryonic stem
cells are preferable for research because the researchers need to observe
them as they mature from embryonic to adult.  Knowing what happens during
that process will aid in determining how the cells can be used to regenerate
tissue.  Apparently, embryonic stem cells can become any type of tissue
(neural, muscle, bone, etc.).  Adult stem cells have already taken on certain
characteristics which limit what type of tissue they can become.
