My Mum was prescribed Amantadine to help with her dyskinesia. She takes one 100mg capsule twice a day, and after just 2 days her dyskinesia disappeared, and in addition it helped with on-off symptoms as well as gaining more energy. The only downside is that she does get some swelling around her ankles which we try to control by using compression stockings. How Amantadine actually works to alleviate some PD symptoms is still unknown at this time. For some people it works for a long time and for others at the most for a year and then it stops working. Usually a person who has been helped previously can go back on it after stopping it for some time.
Hope this helps

I take one capsule a day. It seems to extend the effect of the sinemet and
even out my response to the meds. My doctor says they don't know how it
works, but it seems to help some people.
