I disagree.  GWB's decision couldn't have been any more damaging to the
advancement of ESCR.  He threw the moderates a bone and hopes to win their
support. The conservatives are generally pleased with the decision.  Jerry
Falwell was ecstatic. How long do you think 69 stem cell lines will survive?
Most of them are owned by corporations who are not going to let anybody near
them.  Others are tied up in court battles and patent litigation.  Without
new fresh lines the research is doomed.

The bio-ethicist Bush is expected to name to head his Stem Cell Commission
has been against IVF and ESCR for years.

If GWB is so concerned about human life why did he execute so many when he
was Governor of Texas?  It makes no sense to me.

The War is not over.  We must take our fight to the Congress.
