Dear Chris and other interested parties,

I concur with your assessment. As many of you are aware, I had a right
side pallidotomy in December '94 and a left side pallidal DBS in December
'94, the first North American patient to have DBS. My neurosurgeons were -
and are - Ron Tasker and Andres Lozano, the best in the business! Apart
from some deterioration of my speech, I am in the 15th pecentile of PWPs,
compared to the 90th pre-op.

See my book "My Second Life: Living with Parkinson's Disease", published
last May and my booklet "Neurosurgery for Parkinson's Disease: a patient's
perspective"

Cheers,

Bill Harshaw
