The hearing will be held in the Dirksen Office Building in Room 430. Senator Kennedy is the Chairman of the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee. Topic: President Bush's Recent Decision on Embryonic Stem Cell Research Panel 1: Secretary Tommy Thompson, Health and Human Services NIH Officials *note: Secretary Thompson has been invited to testify and has been asked to select the appropriate NIH officials to testify. Panel 2: Scientists/Researchers. * various scientists have been invited to testify,but no one is confirmed at this time. The hearing will be divided into two sessions, the first panel will be a morning session, from 10 am until noon and the second panel will be an afternoon session, from 1 until 3 or from 2 until 4. The hearing will focus on the sciencific issues and logistics surrounding the President's decision. This information is tentative and subject to change.
