Bravo for Dr. Jorge Romero!
My wife Barbara died several months ago from (complications due to)
Parkinson's Disease. I am convinced that if restraints are placed in the
search of a cure, MANY more PWP will be condemned to premature death. I
also believe that if the safeguard of discarded 'embryos' takes precedence
over currently LIVE people, then the extension of that must be that ALL ova
and spermaceti produced all over the world all the time must be kept and
protected the same way. My beliefs (and religion) are just as valid as
yours, whoever you are, but I am not willing to have to abide by your
beliefs. I can disagree with and respect yours ONLY if you can respect
mine.
I had decided to stay with this list because my world was within it and I
thought I might bring some value to it. I am not so sure anymore, and the
next few weeks may decide my next move. I am staying with my local support
group because I am still fighting for a cure and do not believe I am
offending anyone here.
Thank you again, Jorge for expressing what I could not in spite of my
working years as a research chemist with the FDA. Keep it up! Vaya con
Dios!
