I just came back from our annual PD pique nique and pot luck and I feel wiped out. Dr. Linda Sigmund, our movement disorder specialist, has again taken the lead in assuming the culinary duties as she has since 1985 when the group was founded. I was also good for me to see members I had not seen for a while because I have not been as attentive to the weekly care giver's meetings since Barbara passed on. The number of residents has reached about 800 by now and I suspect many of them are PWP with many in denial. We had PD support group meetings of sorts, but the leaders are not able to go on. Ergo, I have assumed the role and will have our first meeting on 6 September at 1:00 PM and I hope I won't oversleep. We'll focus on successful eating and timing the medication. If you can find somebody more qualified, I'd be very happy to relinquish that job. I had lived with Parkinson for over 13 years and I am still looking for a cure. I wish I could bring youse guys of the SPARKLING group up to our meeting to raise the spirits of us poor slobs. Love and Hugs, etc. Michel PS Next time I write to Bugs Bunny, I want an answer...Please.
