Eugene,

First you should try one or more of the other agonists. Mirapex
does not work for everyone. Tasmar works very well for some
people and is well worth the inconvenience of testing if it
works. Consider the other agonist options first.

Subject: Mirapex

Dear Friends,
Since several of you have recently discussed the side
effects of Mirapex, I want to add my story. I take .5 mg 3 x day
with Sinemet 25/100. So far this dosage had only helped the stare
and other affective conditions. The tremor in my right arm
continues.
Recently, my neuro-a movement disorder specialist, suggested
increasing the Mirapex
to .75mg 3 x day. I've been on this regimen for a month and have
experienced the following.
             difficulty breathing, dry mouth, increased
urination, nasal inflamation, weakness, decreased sex drive,
general feeling of illness, impotence, and pneumonia.

These symptoms are par according to the PDR and might be
tolerable if the tremor were helped. The tremor is getting worse
ad now continues into the night. It seems that stress and intense
cognitive activity aggravate the tremor. My frustration level is
increasing and I am thinking about DBS or other intervention.

Should I hang on with Mirapex? Maybe things will improve because
I sure feel lousy!
