Hi Greg-- I agree ! From what I've read bin Laden's militant Islamic
fundamentalism does NOT represent the majority of Muslims--far from
it. However, the writer has experience that I don't have. I felt
he was trying to convey a view reflecting that experience, and have
also heard on CNN the comment that for many Muslims in the Arabic
countries bin Laden is a *hero*, and would become a *martyr* if
killed. No easy answers---but let's realize that this is far more
dangerous and complex than just eliminating a few "bad guys"--while
everything can't be blamed on our foreign policies over the years, we
HAVE given support to the "bad guys", as when we armed the Taliban
because they were fighting Russia.
