I've been working as part of a large team on a proposal for a new program here, and I found some persuasive statistical information re. the need for writers and editors at the US Bureau of Labor Statistics: http://www.bls.gov/ I don't know if Stats Canada has similar projections for employment needs, but its worth a look.
