The Faculty of Communication and Culture, a dynamic faculty dedicated
to innovative, interdisciplinary teaching and research at the graduate
and
undergraduate levels, invites applications for a tenure-track assistant
professor position in the area of Professional Communication.
Beginning July 1, 2002, the successful applicant will teach courses in
rhetoric and composition, with an emphasis on technical and
professional writing, academic writing, rhetorical history and theory,
and
if possible, organizational communications. S/he will also contribute to
faculty initiatives supporting communication, including liaison with the
Writing Centre, and the development of Post Degree Continuous
Learning and distance education initiatives.

Preference will be given to applicants with an ability to teach
qualitative
and quantitative research methods and in one or more of the following
programs also offered by the Faculty: Canadian Studies; Development
Studies; Film Studies; Law and Society; Science, Technology and
Society; Leisure, Tourism and Society; Urban Studies.
We are seeking a committed scholar who can develop an active
research program and supervise graduate students. A completed or
nearly completed PhD is required. The deadline for applications is 1
