Hi Sami, I hesitate to offer any advice about surgery. You need to check
with neuro and regular M.D. But I will say I had hammer toes on both feet
which made the second toe raise up making it impossible to wear a shoe for
very long. The podiatrist did a simple operation out patient with a local
antiseptic and mild sedation. I was home by noon and in a special open shoe
for about 8 days. It healed beautifull and is back where it belongs next to
the big toe. So five months later when the second toe on the other foot
became unbearable and actually crossed over the big toe, he did that same
thing again.. Same results and you can't tell anything was done. Now the
middle toe on the left foot will be done. A portion of the bone below the
first joint is removed. My exray showed the joint had actually set up.
Soooooo painful. I too was getting spasms when at rest sitting or lying down
almost bringing tears to my eyes. Good luck. Marilyn
