Dear Phil,
After reading your post about freezing up and irregular motion, It sounds
like you need a dog. A Service Support Dog to  be specific. They are
wonderful intuitive beings that can give you stability and freedom of motion
better than canes.
Your discussions on weights is interesting  and probably has some scientific
explanation, but for now I guess you can do the entertainment. LOL     Rob
