I go to Dr. Stanley Fahn at Columbia Presbyterian [located a couple of blocks from the George Washington Bridge and the Cross Bronx Expressway] It took 2 1/2 months [1999] to get a first appointment, but the man is truly worth the wait. He gave me almost 3 hours at my first meeting + a full hour at each subsequent appointment, as opposed to the normal 15-20 minutes from the previous 7 "neurologists" I've had. You also get a "Fellow" assigned to you, a doctor who is 6 months or less from being a full fledged Movement Disorders Specialist there. You have phone, fax and e-mail access to them and they always respond within one day. I would not ask him about this, but my local GP here in NJ told me that Dr. Fahn is Muhammad Ali's MDS, for whatever that is worth. # is 212-305-5277,5537, or 1540 BBA ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kathleen Cochran" <[log in to unmask]> To: <[log in to unmask]> Sent: Tuesday, October 16, 2001 10:37 AM Subject: Re: SECOND OPPINION > In a message dated 10/16/2001 9:56:29 AM, [log in to unmask] writes: > > << now we are looking for a second opinion in NY > or Long Island when she goes North for a visit... can anyone suggest a > good doctor there?.. >> > > I can recommend Dr. Rachel Saunders-Pullman at the Movement Disorders Clinic > of Beth Israel Medical Center at Union Square, 212-844-8719.
