Michele, I am sorry that you have jumped to such conclusions on the basis of a phone call to a "receptionist" In actuality, I think that once one takes the time to get into the VA system you will find that it really works quite well. I have never been to one of these centers, but I can vouch for the great job that the local VA hospitals are doing. From my personal experience, I can tell you that my neuro (at the VA) prescribed Requip for me and there was no problem getting it. Since that time, I had problems with that drug and things were quickly adjusted. All of the doctors at my local VA from the GP,Neuro, and Rehab Med. are right on top of things with the meds and assistive devices from the OT section that make life much easier. I think that you will find the quality of care that you recieve at the VA to be a very positive experience, but you have to give the system a chance to work..
