Lee,
In my opinion you need to have some adjustments made to your programming. I
had the DBS/STN surgery in May 1999. I have had wonderful results. I have
had a few adjustments, about every 3-6 months, and have found it's finding
the right balance between the stimulators and the medicine which work best
for me. One extra dose of Sinemet CR in a 24 hour period will push me into
dyskinesia. I have a slight tremor in my right foot which seems to have
progressed beyond my surgical benefit. More stimulation to control the
tremor affects my speech too severely, and more sinemet gives me dyskinesia.
I put up with the small tremor from time to time. With just meds, I cannot
function at all, so I stay turned on and put up with the tremor from time to
time.
