Our reference is "diagnosis" though we know some symptoms appear sooner for almost everyone. I'm probably repeating everything you already know, so do forgive me. Just keep questioning me until you get the information you need. Let me use myself as an example. The neuro who examined me in 1996 said he thought what I had was possibly PD. I had little to no tremor, some postural instability, rigidity, and some Bradyikinesia. The diagnosis changed when my medication, basically Sinemet, gave limited assist and increasing it only brought on more side affects. My diagnosis went from PD to PD+ meaning I went from Parkinson to Parkinsonian, Parkinson Syndrome, Parkinson Plus-there are a number of designations. The doctor figured I'd eventually fit into a PD+ profile! We all waited. No Essential Tremor or Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, etc. To make a long story short, I continue to be "undiagnosed" but under the PD umbrella(I can easily get on my soapbox re this cubbyhole because I feel it hinders true diagnoses). This is my sixth year, and while we know some of what is happening to me, we know for certain it's not PD. My response on the questionaire would then be : "Incomplete Diagnosis 6 years".
