The way of practice in the UK in situations where hallucinations and
confusion develop as a side effect of medication is that we slowly withdraw
medications starting with anticholinergics, then selegeline, dopamine
agonists until the hallucinations settle. We occasionally use atypical
neuroleptics to dampen the hallucinations, but theses often have a negative
effect on the parkinsonism symptoms. Generally the pros and cons of
medication have to be weighed carefully in each individuals case. No two PWP
are the same.

As other types of medication has been tried, have you tried very slowly
reducing the Amantadine to a stage where the side effects are tolerable?
What about a long acting drug overnight to help the morning cramps? we use
long acting dopamine agonists and controlled release preparations of L-dopa.
Discuss this with your clinician.

Dear Anna,
The generic names are ;
Levadopa + Selegiline + Dopamin antagonist ( Dopergin )
He stopped using Selegiline and Dopergin and started using Amantadine
instead.
He often had duedenum dyskinesia and he was describing the feeling saying
that a
belt was squeezing his stomach right under his ribs. This new medication
didin't
help him much though. It just relieved his morning cramps completely.
