Free public seminar set for Parkinson patients
For individuals suffering from Parkinsonian or essential tremor,
simple tasks become a challenge because of uncontrollable
shaking.

A free public seminar on a new therapy option for long-term
suppression of tremor will be offered Wednesday, Dec. 12,
at Ogden Regional Medical Center from 7 to 8 p.m.
in the Education Center, Cedar Room.

Discussion will center on an implantable system to
electrically stimulate the thalamus, said Dr. Brent L. Clyde,
neurosurgeon. Clinical studies show the therapy controls
tremor in more than 80 percent of those who receive it.

The seminar is sponsored by Ogden Regional Medical Center.
