Hi Emily and Julian and Good Evening toyou All,

My answer to questions 1 through 4 is a great big "No"....
and my gut feeling is that someone may be misleading you
re: Parkinson's and an "alternative approach to healing".

I'm a mechanic, not a Dr. .......... but if chelation and over the
counter herbs and hormones etc. were documented in
peer reviewed scientific journals as legitimate therapies for
Parkinson's... then they just might get my attention.

I suspect the "alternative approach to healing" you speak of,
is a thick book written by a husband and wife team in which
they purport to cure or treat almost every disease and
condition known to mankind... Doesn't sound reasonable!
How could they write three pages on Parkinson's and thus
offer something that has eluded scientific research for
the past 184 years? (since Dr. James Parkinson wrote his
paper on the shaking palsy)...

There are a lot of researchers, scientests, and doctors
who have devoted their lives and careers to just one
medical condition - Parkinson's...

Some of these dedicated individuals are available to us
through the movement disorder centers.

I prefer the Movement Disorder Specialist's to the authors
of questionable books.

Parkinson's is best treated by Parkinson's specialists,
I think... but then I am just a mechanic....

Please consult the best medical professional you can
before attempting a do-it-yourself scheme from some book.

I know a medical opinion, that you have a condition (for
which there is no cure) may not seem as attractive as a
book that allows you to read-between-the-lines and thus
assume you can do better by just buying some over the
counter "natural remedy". Don't waste your money...

Everything I have read indicates Sinemet is still the "Gold
Standard" treatment, although current thinking is that an
agonist may offer a similar benefit initially and permit
delaying Sinemet until it is really necessary.

Years of personal experience tells me that slow titration
to a level of Parkinson's meds that offer reasonable
quality of life is the best route for me.

I'll trust the medical professionals!

Cheers ........... murray
