Neurology Professor Karl Kieburtz, M.D., of the University of
Rochester will lead the biggest clinical trial ever of Parkinson’s
disease.  Starting late 2002 or in 2003, 3000 PD patients will be
tracked at 42 sites for 5 years to determine the effectiveness of
various substances at slowing the progression of the disease.  The
study will be supported by a $6.5 million grant from the National
Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NIH Grant number
1U01NS43128-01).
