POSTING: Lecturer, Office of English Language and Writing Support, School of Graduate Studies, University of Toronto The School of Graduate Studies at the University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time position at the rank of Lecturer in the Office of English Language and Writing Support (ELWS). The initial appointment will be for a period of two years beginning August 1, 2002. ELWS offers a range of non-credit courses, workshops and individual consultations to instruct and support graduate students in the writing and oral language they use in their studies. Descriptions of this term's offerings can be found on the ELWS website at www.sgs.utoronto.ca/english. Qualified applicants will possess at least a Master's degree and certification in teaching English as a Second Language. Familiarity with the demands of graduate programs, extensive experience teaching ESL at the university level, and a record of teaching excellence are essential for this position. The successful candidate will teach courses/workshops in at least three of the following areas: EAP, ESL, Scientific Writing, Pronunciation, and Oral Presentation Skills. Other requirements are the ability to work collaboratively and harmoniously with a range of colleagues, the skill to identify and solve curriculum delivery challenges, and the capacity to design instructional programs. Expertise in instructional technology is desirable. The deadline for applying is March 12, 2002.
