Don & Group - Research in cell therapy is in the very early stage of development. This includes the use of cells obtained from other humans and from animals. While the technology is promising it is not without problems. The scientists and researchers are working very hard to sort things out and bring this procedure to the general public. Their goals, however, go far beyond mere cell replacement. Ultimately they hope to be able to grow new organs or obtain "replacement parts" from animals specially bred for that purpose. The pig is the current darling of the industry. For those of you who are not familiar with my involvement in pig cell therapy, please read an online diary of experiences with this cutting edge procedure at URL: http://www.geocities.com/jimcfinn/index.html Any comments or questions?
