Wow, Carol-is that ever good news about bringing Ted home. It is
obvious that your determination, knowledge and your decision to
"educate" those in the health care system who were willing to listen to
you. I am also certain that the prayers of so many who care about and
love teddy from the chatroom didn't hurt, either! Would you email me
today, please so that I can check your correct snail mail address so
that I may mail you somethings? Thank you Carol for all you've done and
the inroads you've made!!
Now, I'd like to speak about Congressman Lane Evans, whom I know
personally. He came to Chillicothe last July to be a guest speaker at my
golf-tournament/family funday activities. A nicer, kinder, more caring
man you will not find in this dirty game of politics. (this is my
opinion, and i admit to not knowing many congressmen!) Since that
initial meeting, I have been in close contact with him and his
office-altho he does not represent my district. My husband & I went to
an kick-off party for his new campaign and I must tell you, that I am
quite happy to endorse him not only as a candidate who happens to have
Parkinson's Disease, but also as a well educated man who is acutely in
tune with his district and the workers who live there. His stamina and
his enthusiasm are remarkable for anyone not just a pwp. What is
heart-breaking to me, is that his opponents seem to zero in on his
health as their major issue to beat the Congressman. This requires him
to use valuable resources to combat their negative advertising when he
would much rather spend the time, effort and money on the real
issues-vetrans affairs, labor and management, the economy and
unemployment.
So, once again, it becomes glaringly apparent that our voices must
be heard...that our disease must be explained to those who confuse and
mix up the information, and we must make the entire country and world
understand what Parkinson's Disease and it's diagnosis means-be it in
the health care industry, in politics or in the line at the grocery
store.
April is Parkinson's Awareness Month, why not plan something
now to raise awareness in your area?? If anyone needs ideas or
suggestions, please contact me. Together we can make a difference!!
