Emily --

The progression of PD like the responses to the drugs to treat PD is so
individual. While the disease usually progresses, sometimes it does not.
Or does so very slowly. It is also well documented in the anecdotal
literature that changes in the medication regimen of PWPs has sometimes
produced almost miraculous results for that patient. It is so darn trial
and error, this thing called Parkinson's Disease. I think that is one of
the most frustrating things about it.

Our family doctor whom we visited today noticed himself that my husband's
progression of PD is rapid. He is not yet on any medication as we have to
wait for the movement specialist.
What my questions is if you have experienced steady progression of the
disease and if there is time when this disease goes into remission with or
without drugs. Our doctor told us bluntly that with my husband's progression
of the disease he is not a candidate to live with the disease for 20 or 30
years as some of you are experiencing, long life with PD. Would you share
your experience.
