MODD (Music, Opera, Drama, Dance) presents a performance of Romeo and
Juliet, in which Shakespeare's text, Bernstein's musical (West Side
Story), the operas of Bellini and Gounod, Prokofiev's Ballet, and
Tchiakovsky's orchestral music are combined to present a 90-minute
version of Romeo and Juliet.  The objective is to show young people
that all art forms can tell a story.  The production combines the
talents of Ballet Jorgen, the Canadian Opera Company, the Stratford
Festival of Canada and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, and is directed
by Richard Rose, Artistic Director of the Necessary Angel Theatre
Company.

Four performances are scheduled at the Toronto Centre for the Arts
main stage, 5040 Yonge Street, Toronto:  Thursday 21 February at 10:30
am and 1:30 pm, and Friday 22 February at 10:30 am and 7:30 pm.
