Hi All -

Please pardon this "mass mailing." I would much prefer to write to each one
of you individually but time simply does not permit that.

As you know, I had experimental surgery for the implantation of cells -
derived from pigs - into my brain for the treatment of Parkinson's Disease.
The procedure was performed in September, 1996. And the results have been
impressive.

The media has latched on to this story over the past 5 years. Interviews
have been conducted by "Frontline," "60 Minutes," "Discovery/TLC," "Oprah,"
etc.

Last week a production crew was here from "The CBS Evening News With Dan
Rather." This team consisted of a producer, a videographer, a sound guy, and
the reporter, Wyatt Andrews.

On Tuesday and Wednesday (12th - 13th) of this week's "Evening News" there
will be a 2-part article on organ transplants. CBS has just informed me that
I will appear in the second half. But you are urged to watch both parts.
While my role is a small one this is a very important story with implications
for all of us.

The News airs at 6:30 PM EST on your local CBS outlet.

I thought you'd like to know -

Jim Finn
