Hi Jim... Regarding your question wherein you ask if anyone has had a successful Pallidotomy and who ALSO had a successful DBS ([presumably at a later date).

FYI, I had a unilateral pallidotomy on October 24, 1994. The surgery was successful beyond my wildest dreams, provided I continued to take my daily meds (and I took them with near religious fervor!

I happen to have an appointment this Tuesday with my neurosurgeon as I have finally begun to exhibit PD symptoms on the side oh which had previously been without any visible
symptoms of this steeeeemkin disease! <deep sigh>

I've had PD too long - around 25 years - to give up this late in the game/ Besides, If I DID throw in the towel now, I'd prolly mssl the CURE!
That said, I'm sure TIRED of fighting this battle...

Jim, do you know anyone who had DBS of the STN who had undergone a
Pallidotomy in years past. I had a bilateral Pallidotomy 6-1/2 years and
now i take a lot of meds; I am fairly active. I walk about ten miles per day.
