Elizabeth.......go into www.angelfire.com/pa5/ssdi/index.html this site was developed by Greg Stirling and is a wealth of information on SS/Disability/PD, etc scroll down.......in it under "Other independent sites and info..." you will find Legal Information Institute's Library on SS www.nsclc.org/linkframe.html which probably contains 25 sites you can link to regarding your problem including AARP legal services who provide a free 30 minutes consultation. Also click on the link on the home page and go into Fedupfeds Health Site (dealing with red tape) and scroll down to the boxes where it says legal and you wind up at ww.fedupfeds.org/legal.htm which as another bunch of legal resources........And, from what I've heard your bank should not charge you for copies of the checks as it's being done under an "investigatory" situation ...Good Luck.. My husband passed away when I was 58,so I was awarded a survivers payment. A little over a year ago they sent me a letter saying that I probably could get more if I used my own SS. I filled out all of the papers and then the problems began. They say that they were paying me both SS payments. I have all of my deposit slips and it dosen't come close to what they say. So I thought maybe I could find a way to see the canceled checks. Hope I can.
